This fridge has it all!

We got our Whirlpool July 2 after being without a house refrigerator for about 10 days. We had a "side-by-side" freezer/fridge before. We really love the freezer on bottom and with French door fridge it is easy access to everything! Just a great unit; and it seems efficient because I don't hear the compressor running very often.

It's a nice fridge but very poorly made

Once I put food in it, it's a lot smaller then I realized, also poorly made.. insulation hanging outside the doors and at the top hinge, whirlpool logo was crooked. I attached pictures. Drawer in freezer doesn't slide well and you have to really push on freezer door to close otherwise it doesn't close all the way/seal then there's ice build up inside, drawers inside slide with grease or something that gets all over the place. Had the warranty guy out said they would have to replace the door and move all the parts in it to the new one if we wanted the insulation on the hinge gone and no guarantee the new door wouldn't be the same thing. They did order us a new logo though.. I will say it's quieter then our last one so that's a plus

interior space is not well planned

We prefer black appliances, and when our old refrigerator died, this Whirlpool was the only black 30" model we could get with a reasonable delivery time. Buying a fridge sight-unseen was a bad idea - the interior of this model is very poorly planned. The crisper drawer is divided into two sections, neither of which has enough space. There is no room for more than one gallon bottle of milk without totally removing one of the shelves. The "pantry drawer " is a mystery - is one supposed to use it for meat, or for cold cuts, or what? Who would want to mix raw meats with cheeses, cold cuts, etc. in the same drawer? There are a few other annoyances - the cover over the hinge on the top of the door pops up, showing the bare metal hinge; and the white plastic feet are visible at the bottom. Shrink wrap must have been put on before the doors were installed, because there are still little fragments showing that we've been picking at when we have spare time. The refrigerator itself runs well and keeps food fresh, and if it weren't for the shortcomings, it would get a 5-star rating.
